Pi Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., was chartered in Willingboro, N.J., in 1986. This sisterhood has a rich history that began with the founding of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 1908 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Pi Mu Omega continues the noble purpose of the sorority, “Service to All Mankind”.
We are proud to have developed and participated in myriad programs that have served to change the lives of women and children, families, seniors and individuals in and around Willingboro. Our annual Martin Luther King Commemorative Breakfast is the largest Burlington County gathering to honor the legacy of Dr. King., and each year we recognize the service efforts of community members. For more than 20 years, the chapter has maintained a room that sleeps six in The Providence House shelter for abused women and their children, and regularly provides supplies to the house. The chapter has conducted Computer Literacy Classes for area residents, conducted a Human Trafficking Workshop for social-service providers and community stakeholders, led health fairs in cooperation with the county Health Department, and developed the Emerging Young Leaders program for girls beginning in middle school.
On behalf of the members of the Pi Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., it is my pleasure to welcome you to our official website. We invite you to browse our website to learn more about our chapter and our excellent service programs.
